What I have
been up to since the summer of 1970....
I've lived in Denver, CO, since 1982, and all of my ties are to this area where I've made a wonderful life. I used to visit Bethesda frequently when my mother still lived there and I worked for the government. I made it to our 10th reunion because I was still living in the area at that time. Amy Kingston is the one person from Whitman with whom I maintained contact long term. We were in touch until just a few years ago even though we haven't seen one another for nearly 20 years.
I moved to Denver as a geologist for the U.S. Geological Survey, where I
worked until my retirement in 2004. My husband of 12 years, Rob, is also a
retired USGS geologist. We have taken on many home improvement projects in our retirement, and our home is now perfect for us, except that it has only
the tiniest sliver of a mountain view.
I have a 19-year-old daughter who is in college in Denver, but we are empty
nesters in that she has her own apartment. Rob has triplets, age 30, two of
whom live in Denver and one in Washington state. We have one grandchild here
and one in Washington.
I have made tennis my retirement occupation, playing at least four times a
week year round, including participating in four to five leagues. My other
passion is gardening, and I have managed to incorporate a few reminders of
Bethesda, including azaleas and redbuds, into my garden in this wonderful
high desert climate.
